Our FitStar of the week is Ron Coley from Chicago. Ron was the lucky winner of our Spring into Summer Shape giveaway. He won the No Excuses Ultimate Prize Pack and has been putting it to good use! Before starting FitStar, Ron had lower back issues, but through his Program workouts and Freestyle Sessions like Hard Core, he’s developed a stronger core and alleviated the pain.
Here are five facts you need to know about FitStar: Ron Coley.
1. How long have you been using FitStar and what Program do you use?
I am using Get Strong and have been with FitStar since the FIRST DAY!!!
2. What is your FitStar story?
My FitStar story has been just an absolute blast! I was fortunate enough to win the Summer Giveaway which gave me free FitStar for a year, a new iPad Air, Nike Free shoes (which are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had!), a FitStar shirt, Whole Foods gift card and a consultation with Long Vo, one of the FitStar trainers. I am so thankful to have won and I tell everyone I know about FitStar and how it has helped me get a nice core!
3. Why is FitStar is a good fit for you?
It’s a good fit for me because body weight exercises have been better for me. Working out with weights have not been kind. I tend to hurt myself a lot. I haven’t hurt myself at all with FitStar. Tony Gonzalez has clear instructions regarding the exercises, so it’s tough to do things the wrong way. FitStar also includes exercises I have never done before, so it’s been good to get out of the rut of typical gym routines. The Freestyle Sessions are cool too because it gives you even more routines besides your normal plan.
4. What have you gained by using FitStar?
I can tell I’ve gained functional strength. It’s one thing to lift a dumbbell or barbell, but to do functional exercises where it involves multiple body parts is where it is at for me! I can now do pull-ups. Before FitStar I was only able to do 1 or 2 at the most. Now I am able to do a lot of them! I have gained core strength without a doubt. I can hold a bridge for about 2 minutes now. The Hard Core Freestyle Session, along with my normal Program, has definitely given me a solid foundation. I don’t have lower back pain like I did prior to doing FitStar.
5. What tips or advice do you have for others that may help get them started or keep going?
For those just starting out, I will say just do any FitStar Program you can. There are also several free Freestyle Sessions to try like Good Morning, which is a fun and easy routine everyone can do. For those who need to keep going, I would recommend mixing it up. You can do a Freestyle Session or just do basic walking to keep it up. Once you make exercise part of your daily routine, the results will come!
